Gloria G. Brame is an American author, sexologist, educator, and researcher whose work has focused on human sexuality, consensual BDSM, fetishism, and alternative relationships since the late twentieth century. Trained in literature before specialising in sexology, she became one of the earliest authors to present BDSM to a mainstream audience through an educational and research-based perspective. Her best-known work, Different Loving, co-authored with William D. Brame and Jon Jacobs, is regarded as one of the landmark documentary studies of consensual dominance and submission. Drawing upon extensive interviews, historical sources, and contemporary research, the book challenged many misconceptions surrounding BDSM and helped establish a more informed public understanding of the Lifestyle.
