Robert J. Rubel, widely known within the Leather community as Dr. Bob, is one of the most influential educators and authors in modern Master/slave literature. Through his books, educational programs, conferences, and the Power Exchange Books Resource Series, he helped document and preserve practical and philosophical approaches to consensual authority exchange. Rather than promoting a single "correct" model, Rubel consistently encouraged informed decision-making, personal responsibility, and the development of protocols adapted to the needs of individual relationships. His publications became foundational references for many Masters, slaves, and educators during the early twenty-first century and played an important role in transforming community knowledge from primarily oral tradition into accessible written documentation.
