Originally developed as an internal training handbook for the Toy Slaves Brothel community in Second Life, A Dominant's Handbook combines institutional procedures with broader reflections on dominance, service, responsibility, consent, and community leadership. Although written for a specific virtual BDSM environment, much of its educational content extends beyond its original context, presenting the Dominant not simply as an authority figure, but as a mentor, protector, educator, and representative of the values upheld by the community. Alongside practical guidance on protocols, ranks, discipline, and training, the manual documents how one organised BDSM institution sought to preserve its culture and standards through structured education.
