The Archive

A living collection of writings on consent, history, ritual and care. The Archive is not instruction in how to dominate or submit — it is an invitation to read slowly, think carefully, and meet practice with respect.

Library

A curated shelf of essays, books and references recommended by Cellar Masters and senior members. Recommendations are reviewed before they are added, and the collection is updated as the community matures.

Community essays

Original writings by members of The Cellars on consent, protocol, dynamic maintenance and the emotional labour of dominance and submission. These essays are shared with the authors' permission and represent personal perspectives rather than institutional doctrine.

  • On the ethics of training — forthcoming
  • The long apprenticeship of submission — forthcoming
  • Dominance as responsibility, not performance — forthcoming

Recommended reading

Books and external resources that have shaped the thinking of The Cellars community. Titles are selected for depth, accuracy, and respect for the complexity of power exchange. We do not recommend shallow guides or sensationalist accounts.

  • Coming to Power — SAMOIS (eds.) — forthcoming
  • The New Topping Book / The New Bottoming Book — Dossie Easton & Janet Hardy — forthcoming
  • Consensual Sadomasochism — Charles Moser & Peggy Kleinplatz — forthcoming
  • Leatherfolk — Mark Thompson (ed.) — forthcoming

External references

Links to organisations, archives and educational projects that share The Cellars' commitment to consent, safety and the dignified study of BDSM culture. These links are reviewed periodically for continued relevance.

  • National Coalition for Sexual Freedom — forthcoming
  • Consensual Non-Consent: A resource guide — forthcoming

The shelves are being filled. If you have a recommendation for the Library, reach out to a Keeper or Cellar Master.
