The Lexicon

The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

Practices

Service

Acts performed by a submissive or slave for the benefit of another, as an expression of the dynamic.

Definition

Disambiguation

'Service' spans many traditions, from single acts within a scene to lifelong service arrangements and household service within Female-Led homes. This article treats the general concept; specific expressions appear in their own entries.

Service may be practical, such as household tasks, correspondence, or care of possessions, or symbolic, such as offering drink, kneeling, or attending at a ceremony. It is understood as an offering that carries meaning within the relationship, rather than as unpaid labour.

Service traditions are strongly developed in Leather and in M/s households, where forms of service are often taught and refined over time.
