The Lexicon

The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

ABDL

also known as ABDL, AB/DL

Umbrella abbreviation for two adjacent adult communities: adults who occupy an infant headspace, and adults with a diaper interest.

Definition

Expanded form: Adult Baby / Diaper Lover

ABDL describes an interest area distinct from, but sometimes overlapping with, ageplay and caregiver dynamics. Community writing distinguishes the AB (adult baby) and DL (diaper lover) facets and notes that participants may identify with one, both, or neither.

Discussion

ABDL is documented here as a term of art; the Lexicon takes no view on its inclusion in any particular dynamic.
