Body Adoration is the register of Body Worship in which the emphasis falls on expressive admiration — voiced praise, attentive touch, close observation — rather than on ritual formality or tangible service. It is often present within longer scenes and dynamics as a distinctive mode of interaction.

The vocabulary of Adoration draws on long devotional and courtly traditions of praise directed at the body of another, adapted within consensual BDSM practice.

Adoration and Devotion are often used interchangeably. Some communities distinguish Adoration as the more expressive register and Devotion as the more sustained commitment.
