Branding is the act of applying a Brand. In the novels it is a formal act, sometimes accompanied by ceremony. In contemporary Gorean community practice, references to branding may denote symbolic acts, adopted tattoos, jewellery, or purely literary use. The Lexicon documents the term without describing any specific physical practice.
