The Lexicon

The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

Practices

Full Suspension

A suspension in which the Rope Bottom's weight is fully supported by rope, without contact with the ground.

Definition

Full Suspension is a state in which the Rope Bottom is held entirely by rope and their weight is entirely supported by the rigging above. It is considered a highly demanding form of practice and one that requires substantial preparation from both partners and the Suspension Team.

Discussion

This entry names the concept only; techniques and procedures for full suspension are matters for extensive in-person teaching.
