A House Slave is a slave whose duties are directed to the internal service of a household: cooking, cleaning, attendance on free members and the daily maintenance of the domestic order. The role is distinguished from Work Slaves engaged in heavier labour and from Pleasure Slaves whose duties are principally intimate.
