Line
A single rope path within a tie; also, the visual quality of that path.
Definition
In rope vocabulary, a Line is a single run of rope from one point to another within a tie. It is used both technically, to describe how rope is routed across the body, and aesthetically, to describe the resulting visual composition.
Discussion
Attention to Line is a hallmark of art rope; the term is often used in criticism and teaching in the same way it would be in drawing.
