The Lexicon

The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

History

Reformed Gor

also known as Adapted Gor

A current within Gorean community practice that consciously adapts the literary material to modern consensual and ethical standards.

Definition

Reformed Gor refers to Gorean traditions that take the novels as inspiration rather than as prescriptive text. Reformed practice preserves vocabulary, aesthetics and structural ideas drawn from the setting while consciously updating or discarding elements considered inconsistent with modern consent culture, gender equality or contemporary community values.

Historical background

Reformed currents developed alongside Book Gor as online communities grew and as participants sought ways to engage with Gorean material while integrating contemporary ethical frameworks. Terms such as Equalitarian Gor, Modern Gorean Household and Female-led Gor describe specific reformed lineages.

Discussion

The relationship between Reformed and Book traditions is not adversarial in every community; many households draw from both.
