A Rope Session is a period during which one or more people engage in rope, whether for study, practice, personal exploration, or shared experience. The term is less charged than 'scene' and is commonly used in pedagogical, peer-practice and rehearsal contexts.

The distinction between session and scene is soft and varies between communities; some speakers use the terms interchangeably.
