Body Awareness
The Rope Bottom's ongoing perception of their own body within a tie.
Definition
Body Awareness is the Rope Bottom's cultivated attention to their own body during a scene: to breath, circulation, joints, nerves, muscular strain and emotional state. It is one of the most important skills of a Rope Bottom and a subject of extensive teaching.
Discussion
The concept is not exclusive to the Rope Bottom; Rope Tops also develop body awareness both of themselves and, by careful observation, of their partner.
