Body Mapping
The study of the Rope Bottom's body as it responds to particular kinds of tension and placement.
Definition
Body Mapping is the shared, ongoing process by which Rope Top and Rope Bottom learn how the Rope Bottom's body responds to rope. It attends to individual anatomy, prior injury, sensation preferences, and points of particular sensitivity or vulnerability.
Discussion
The map is a living one; changes in the body, mood, health and practice all alter it, and it is revisited across a partnership.
