A Female-Led Relationship is a partnership in which the woman is, by mutual agreement, the leading partner. FLRs vary widely in intensity, formality and scope, ranging from light day-to-day decision leadership to fully lifestyle-integrated authority arrangements. What defines an FLR is not a particular protocol but the mutual recognition that leadership resides with the woman.

The Female-Led Relationship concept was popularised in late twentieth-century Lifestyle literature and has since developed a substantial body of community writing, mentorship traditions and household models.

FLRs are frequently described using level-based typologies (from casual to lifestyle) though these frameworks are conventions of specific authors and not universal standards.
