Trade, in the Gorean setting, is the exchange of goods between cities, castes and merchants. It is organised through fairs, markets and long-distance caravans, and it is the particular concern of the Merchant Caste. The great fairs of the novels bring together cities that might otherwise be at odds, under the peace of the market.
