The Lexicon

The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

Practices

Transition

The moment or process of moving from one tie or position to another.

Definition

A Transition is the passage between two states within a rope scene: from one tie to the next, from floor to partial suspension, from one position to another. Transitions are considered technically and aesthetically important and are studied in their own right.

Discussion

In performance and art rope, transitions are often treated as significant as the ties themselves.
