The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

Symbols

Authority Dress
Attire chosen or prescribed to express the leadership role within a dynamic.
Back Patch
A large emblem worn on the back of a vest, typically indicating primary club or family affiliation.
BDSM Triskelion
The BDSM Triskelion is the internationally recognized symbol of the Leather, BDSM, and consensual power exchange communities. Inspired by the ancient triskelion motif and formally designed by Steve Quagmyr in the 1990s, it represents unity, discretion, diversity, and the shared ethical principles that bind the community together.
Brand
In the Gorean setting, a permanent mark placed upon a slave to signify their status; in community practice, a range of symbolic or ceremonial marks adopted by consent.
Collar
An object worn to signify a formally recognised commitment within a dynamic.
Colors
The insignia — patches, back patches, pins — that mark affiliation within Leather culture.
Corsetry
Category of structured garments frequently featured in Female Dominance presentation and iconography.
Cover
A Leather cap, and by extension the tradition of headwear worn as a mark of standing within Leather communities.
Cuff
A wrist or ankle band worn to signify a specific status, House affiliation or stage of a dynamic.
Dress Code
Set of standards governing attire within a dynamic, household or event.
Gloves
Element of formal or authority dress often invested with symbolic significance.
Heels
Footwear frequently featured in Female Dominance iconography and presentation.
Home Stone
In the Gorean setting, the sacred token that embodies the identity of a city, household or free person's dwelling.
House Colours
Signature colours associated with a specific household, used in dress and iconography.
Leather Vest
A vest of leather worn as an expression of identity within Leather culture.
Patch
A cloth or leather emblem worn to indicate affiliation, role or accomplishment.
