Mindfuck
Play whose primary content is the manipulation of perception, expectation or belief.
Definition
A mindfuck is a scene or scene element whose central mechanism is psychological rather than physical: perception is altered, expectation subverted, belief unsettled. Physical stimuli, when present, serve the psychological effect.
Discussion
Because the material of a mindfuck is the interior world, its impact can be as lasting as any physical practice; consent, negotiation and aftercare are correspondingly important. This practice generally requires advanced education, informed consent, appropriate risk awareness and should not be approached without adequate knowledge and preparation.
