The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

The mutual, focused attention of Rope Top and Rope Bottom during a scene.

Definition

Shared Attention describes the state in which both partners are fully attentive to one another and to what is unfolding between them. It is closely related to Connection, Presence and Intent, and is treated as a marker of a scene going well.
