The Lexicon preserves the language of the Lifestyle — its words, concepts and traditions. It records meaning; it never prescribes practice. Where usage varies between Houses or lineages, each is set down with equal respect.

Arm Binder
A sleeve-like restraint that encloses both arms behind the body.
Bit
A mouthpiece worn as part of a Pony Play Bridle.
Blindfold
A covering that removes vision.
Blinkers
Panels attached to a Bridle that limit peripheral vision.
Body Harness
A harness that encompasses substantial portions of the body beyond the chest alone.
Bondage Bench
A padded bench designed to support the body in a stable position for play.
Bondage Chair
A chair constructed or adapted for the secure restraint of its occupant.
Bondage Table
A reinforced table designed for supine or prone bondage scenes.
Breast Collar
A strap crossing the chest that connects a Pony's harness to a cart or draft point.
Bridle
A head harness used in Pony Play, typically incorporating straps, a bit and reins.
Bullwhip
A long single-tail whip with a heavy braided body.
Cage
A confined enclosure used for extended containment scenes.
Cane
A slender, rigid rod used as an impact implement.
Carabiner
A hinged, load-bearing connector used to join hardware and rigging.
Ceremonial Dress
Dress worn specifically for ceremonies and ritual occasions.
Chain
Linked metal segments used for restraint or connection between hardware.
Chest Harness
A rope or leather structure encircling and supporting the torso.
Coiling
The practice of storing rope in orderly loops.
Collar and Lead
A collar paired with a lead used to guide, position or display the wearer.
Conditioning Rope
The preparation of new or dry rope to bring it to its intended feel and behaviour.
Crate
A confined enclosure used to house or rest a Pet, adapted from companion-animal crates.
Crupper
A strap running from a harness under the base of the tail to stabilise the harness.
Dragon Tail
A short whip terminating in a single flat leather triangle.
Driving Cart
A wheeled cart designed to be drawn by a Human Pony.
Dungeon
A dedicated space, private or communal, equipped for BDSM scenes.
Earplugs
Devices that reduce or block auditory input.
Feathers
A light sensory-play implement producing soft, whisper-like contact.
Flogger
A multi-tailed impact implement with a handle and several flexible falls.
Formal Attire
Clothing reserved for formal occasions, ceremonies and high-protocol events.
Formal Shoes
Footwear reserved for formal presentation, ceremony or high-protocol occasions.
Fur
A sensory-play material valued for its softness and warmth.
Harness
A rope structure that distributes tension across the body via a pattern of wraps and connections.
Hemp Rope
Rope made from hemp fibre, historically important and still widely used.
Hip Harness
A rope harness applied across the hips and pelvis.
Hoof Boots
Footwear designed to evoke a Pony's hooves and to elevate or shape the wearer's stance.
Hosiery
The broad category of leg and foot coverings that includes stockings, tights and related garments.
Jute Rope
Rope made from jute fibre, widely used in Japanese-influenced rope practice.
Kennel
A structure used to house or rest a Pet, often larger or more furnished than a Crate.
Latex Gloves
Gloves made in latex, often significant within Glove Worship and fetish aesthetic traditions.
Leash
A cord, chain or strap connecting a collar or harness to a Handler's hand.
Leather Cuffs
Wrist or ankle restraints made of leather, with attachment points for further bondage.
Leather Garments
Garments made in leather, including jackets, trousers, harnesses and vests, central to Leather tradition.
Leather Gloves
Gloves made in leather, often significant within Glove Worship and Leather tradition.
Leather Shoes
Shoes made in leather, often significant within Object Devotion and Leather tradition.
Leg Binder
A sleeve-like restraint that encloses both legs together.
Locking Collar
A collar fitted with a lock, worn to signify a defined dynamic or bond.
Medical Table
A table modelled on clinical examination furniture, used in medical-themed play.
Metal Cuffs
Rigid restraints of metal used at the wrists or ankles.
Muzzle
A device fitted over the mouth of a Pet or animal-role participant.
Natural Fibre Rope
Rope made from plant fibres such as jute or hemp, favoured in Japanese-influenced traditions.
Paddle
A flat, rigid impact implement.
Pet Bed
A soft resting place designated for a Pet.
Pet Bowl
A bowl used by a Pet for water, food or ritual purposes.
Pillory
A standing frame that secures the head and hands through fixed apertures.
Posture Collar
A tall, rigid collar that constrains movement of the head and neck.
Pup Hood
A hood designed to evoke a canine head, worn by a Pup in Puppy Play.
Pup Mask
A partial-face mask evoking a canine muzzle, worn as a lighter alternative to a full Pup Hood.
Pup Mitts
Mitts that immobilise the hands into a paw-like shape.
Pup Tail
A tail worn by a Pup, attached by belt, harness or plug.
Puppy Gear
The material equipment associated with Puppy Play, including hoods, mitts, tails and related items.
Queening Chair
A chair or box with an aperture in its seat, used within oral scenes.
Quirt
A short whip with two or more heavy leather falls.
Reins
Straps used to communicate direction and pace to a Human Pony.
Riding Crop
A short equestrian implement adapted to impact play.
Ring
A metal ring used as an attachment point in rope work.
Rope
Cordage used for bondage, restraint and structural work in a scene.
Rope Bag
A bag in which rope is stored and carried.
Rope Care
The ongoing maintenance of rope for safety, longevity and quality.
Saddle
A seat placed on a Human Pony's back, most often ornamental or for light ceremonial riding where safe.
Safety Shears
Blunt-tipped medical scissors carried in rope scenes for emergency cutting of rope.
Signal Whip
A short single-tail whip, historically used to signal working dogs.
Single-tail
A specialised whip with a single tapered braided tail.
Slapper
A short, flexible leather implement made of two layers joined at the handle.
Snap Hook
A spring-gated connector used for non-load-bearing attachment.
Spanking Horse
A raised, padded piece of furniture designed to present the body for impact.
Spreader Bar
A rigid bar used to hold limbs apart at a fixed distance.
St. Andrew's Cross
An X-shaped upright frame with anchor points at each terminus for restraint.
Stockings
Legwear covering the foot and leg, often significant within Body Worship and Object Devotion.
Stocks
A frame with hinged apertures that immobilises the wrists and often the neck.
Strap
A broad, heavy leather band used as an impact implement.
Surcingle
A wide belt or girth around the torso used to anchor Pony Play harness and gear.
Suspension Frame
A rated overhead structure engineered to support the load of suspension.
Suspension Ring
A large metal ring rigged overhead as an anchor for suspension work.
Synthetic Rope
Rope made from synthetic fibres such as nylon or polyester.
Tail Set
A tail worn by a Human Pony, typically attached at the small of the back or via anchor gear.
Tawse
A leather strap divided into tails at its striking end.
Wartenberg Wheel
A small spiked wheel originally designed for neurological examination, adapted to sensation play.
Wrist-to-Ankle Cuff
A restraint system linking wrist and ankle cuffs to constrain reach.
