Pet Headspace is the general term for the interior register cultivated by a Pet during Petplay — a state in which ordinary verbal cognition recedes and a more embodied, animal-inflected mode of experience comes forward. It ranges from light to deep depending on gear, environment and relationship.

As Petplay articulated its interior life, Pet Headspace joined Puppy Headspace and Kitten Headspace as widely recognised terms.

Individual experience varies widely. Handlers and Owners often play significant roles in supporting entry, sustainment and exit.
