'Pack' is used both as a general term for a close primal or animal-role group and, in specific communities, for named groups with formal recognition rituals and internal structure. This article treats the general concept; individual packs define their own culture.

A Pack is a Puppy Play community of Pups, often together with Handlers, who share regular gatherings, rituals, gear traditions and mutual care. Packs vary in size and structure: some are informal groups of friends, others operate with named leadership roles, membership rituals and long-term commitments.

Packs emerged as Puppy Play matured into a distinct subculture with its own social life, and now form the backbone of Puppy Play community in many regions.

Pack structures differ widely. Some use hierarchical language such as Alpha, Beta and Omega; others reject or reinterpret those terms. The Lexicon records the range without endorsing any single model.
