The Guide
Bonds
A Bond names an enduring tie between two members — romantic, mentorship, household, service, alliance, or your own.
What a Bond is
A Bond is a publicly named relationship between two members of The Cellars. It is a way of saying, on the record, that something steady exists between you — affection, guidance, a shared house, a service tie, an alliance, or a connection you describe in your own words. Any member with a complete profile may offer or receive one.
You will find Bonds on your Bonds page, and they appear on each member's profile once active.
Bonds are not Collars
A Bond is not a collar. It carries no assumed authority, no implied submission, no role labels and no terms of conduct. If you wish to mark a considered D/s, ownership, service or partnership tie with explicit roles and terms, see the Collars guide.
Kinds of Bond
- Romantic. Affection, partnership, or romantic intent.
- Mentorship. Guidance, sponsorship, or teaching between members.
- Household. Affiliation within or to a House.
- Service. An offered or accepted service tie (separate from a collar).
- Alliance. A mutual alliance or pact between members.
- Custom. Another enduring tie — describe its nature in your own words.
Offering a Bond
- Open your Bonds page.
- Enter the other member's handle.
- Choose a kind from the list above.
- Write a short title and a brief note describing what the tie means.
- Optionally attach a House if the Bond belongs in its record.
- Submit. The Bond is now offered, and only the two of you can see it.
Accepting or declining
The recipient sees the offer in their notifications and on their Bonds page. They may accept or decline. Declining closes the offer quietly; the requester is told the Bond was not taken up. Either side may withdraw an offer before it is answered.
Keeper review
When a Bond is accepted, a Keeper briefly reviews it to confirm it is in good order. Most Bonds pass through quickly. Once approved, the Bond becomes visible on both profiles and is counted in each member's standing ties.
Ending a Bond
Either party may ask that an active Bond be dissolved at any time, without giving a reason. The dissolution is recorded plainly and the Bond is removed from both profiles. Ended Bonds remain in the history of the account but are not displayed.
Where Bonds appear
Active, approved Bonds appear on each participant's public profile and on your own dashboard. They are searchable only as part of the member profiles themselves. Private notes attached to a Bond are visible to the two members and, where relevant, to the leadership of an associated House.
Bonds and Houses
A Bond may be associated with a House when it is offered. House leadership can see Bonds that involve their House so the Tower keeps an accurate record of its ties.
Privacy and safety
- Nothing about a Bond is visible to anyone else until it is accepted and approved.
- The Cellars never publishes a Bond you have not agreed to.
- You may dissolve any Bond at any time.
- Bonds do not affect access to Chambers, Houses or Verified areas.
What Bonds do not do
- A Bond is not a collar and does not establish D/s authority.
- A Bond does not grant either member rights over the other.
- A Bond does not unlock private content or messaging.
- Bonds are not romantic by default — the kind you choose says what they are.
Remember
A Bond is a stated tie, freely offered and freely ended. Choose the kind that fits, write only what you mean, and treat each Bond — yours and others' — with the care a named relationship deserves.
