The Guide

The Kennel

The Kennel is the directory of members who have chosen to be visible. It is a quiet way to find people, not a feed.

What the Kennel is

The Kennel lists members with complete, visible profiles. It is browsed, not subscribed to: nothing here updates in real time, and no one is shown without having chosen to appear.

Filters and sort

You can narrow the Kennel by primary role, country, experience level and availability, and sort by newest members or recently active. The filters are deliberately small — they help you arrive at a profile, not at a verdict.

Visibility

A member's profile appears in the Kennel only when it is set to be visible to other signed-in members. Hidden profiles do not appear in the Kennel or in search; they remain reachable only to people already in correspondence with them. See Your Profile for how to change your visibility.

Approaching a profile

Before writing to a member, read what they have written about themselves — interests, limits, what they are looking for. A first message that shows you have read the profile is almost always welcome; a generic opener almost never is. Conduct is governed by the Community Rules.

What the Kennel is not

  • It is not a feed — there is nothing to scroll endlessly.
  • It is not a ranking — there are no scores, likes or matches.
  • It is not a complete census — many members keep their profiles hidden.
  • It does not show staff status, sanctions, or anything not on the profile itself.
