Correspondence is the private one-to-one messaging in The Cellars. Each thread holds the conversation between two members and is visible only to them. Any member with a complete profile may write to another, unless one party has blocked the other.

Open your correspondence from the header at any time.

A Chamber is a group room with several members and its own rules of entry. Correspondence is strictly between two people. Use a Chamber for conversation in company; use Correspondence for a private word.

Write the first message either from your correspondence by entering the member's handle, or directly from their profile. Your opening is an introduction — say who you are and why you are writing.

New messages appear in your notifications and in your correspondence list. Open a thread to read it; type at the bottom to reply. Threads stay in order of latest activity, so an old thread will come back to the top when either side writes.

Messages are visible only to the two people in the thread. They are not shown on profiles, not included in search, and not used to generate suggestions. Staff do not read correspondence as a matter of course; a thread is reviewed only when one of the participants files a report and only as needed to act on it.

Blocking another member ends correspondence with them, hides their profile from you, and prevents new contact in either direction. Blocks are silent — the other person is not told. You can place and lift blocks from your settings at any time.

If a message breaches the Community Rules, report the thread. A short note about what happened helps Keepers act quickly and fairly. You may also block at the same time; the two actions are independent.

• It is not a public timeline; nothing you send appears on a profile.
• It is not anonymous — each message is plainly from your account.
• It is not a substitute for safety reporting; use the report tool when something is wrong.

Write as you would speak across a small table — clearly, and only to one person.
