The Guide

A quiet companion for The Cellars. Read it once, return when needed.

The Guide

Consent, Limits & Privacy

The Cellars is built on consent. These are the working practices that keep it that way.

Consent is affirmative and ongoing

Consent is not the absence of refusal. It is an explicit, informed, present-tense yes, given freely, and revocable at any time. This applies to messages, scenes, sharing of images, public address, and the use of someone's title or body.

Naming limits

Limits are not a confession; they are a boundary that lets play happen. Soft limits are not now, perhaps later, with care. Hard limits are no, and that no stands. Put both in your profile so others can meet you well.

If you do not know your limits yet, say so. Still discovering is a complete and honourable answer.

Privacy by default

  • Do not screenshot, repost, or quote private conversations without permission.
  • Do not link The Cellars identities to off-platform identities without consent.
  • Treat profiles, Chambers and Houses as confidential to their members.

Disengaging well

You may decline, pause, unfollow, or block at any time. You do not owe an explanation. If a situation becomes unsafe, leave first and report after. Staff would rather you leave intact and follow up later than stay to be polite.

Reporting

Report harassment, breaches of consent, or anything that suggests a minor is present. Reports are read by staff with discretion. See the Community Rules for the conduct that grounds every decision.
